52 Week Challenge Week 13: Ruffian

Ruffian! Scary! I can't freehand very well so I used hole reinforcements to make the circle at the cuticle of my nail. However I had a little mishap with my pointer finger, it wasn't quite dry when I put the reinforcement on so a huge chunk of polish peeled up. I did my best to smoosh it back down.
I chose to use yet another NOPI kardashian polish, Nothing Kim-pares to Blue. What a beautiful color! I love the shimmer in this, on the brush you can see some pink but I can't see it on the nail (granted I haven't been outside with it on yet.) For the reverse moon (is that what it is called?) I used a surprise I got yesterday from the UK! I got a back up of Max Factor Fantasy Fire and she also included Max Factor Ofyssey Blue. Another gorgeous blue with a purple shimmer. Not sure if I'd call it a duochrome or not but it's purdy!

Nabi Magnetic Red/Black

I saw this on Scrangie and had to have it. Her bottles have names but for the life of me I cannot find names on mine. This is a cool red that when magnetized gets black stripes. It's vampy, it's dark and it's cool. I have heard other lacquerheads say these magnets suck but I have no experience with any other magnets, sooooo. I had the China Glaze magnet in my hand at Ulta a couple weeks ago but ended up grabbing a NOPI instead, one of the Kim Kardashian ones to be exact. Oh, and I promise to get my ruffian up as soon as I do it (I'm scared!)

Also, the polish color for my wedding has been decided. Now I'm trying to decide whether to do a glitter accent nail or maybe a holo glitter gradient on top of it. I've pinned most of my mani ideas but here is another one.
Anywho, here's your pics!

52 Week Challenge Week 12: Skittles mani

For my first skittles mani I picked some new colors that recently came out that I also just got. Usually I'm months behind on getting new collections but this time I'm not too far behind. I chose three colors from the OPI Holland collection and two from Sinful Colors Cast Away collection. The colors are: I Have a Herring Problem-thumb, Dutch Ya Just Love OPI ?-pointer, Olympia-middle, Pedal Faster Suzi-ring finger, Neptune-pinky. My middle and ring are the Sinful and the rest are OPI. After I painted these and wore them to work I was bugged that only one nail had a cream finish so I painted Essie Pure Pearlfection over Olympia. Then promptly proceeded to mess up the nail on my picture hand. Hence you get a picture of my right hand! The last two pictures are topped with the Essie.
This mani feels very spring and Easter-y to me. It's different and a nice way to knock out five untrieds at once! That makes 17 from the past week I still need to wear, and a whole box full in my polish drawer.
Loves!

52 Week Challenge Week 11: St Patrick's Day

For my St. Patrick's Day mani I used Sinful San Francisco on all my nails and OPI Fresh Frog of Bel-Air on my ring as an accent. I love the shimmer in Sinful Colors San Francisco, it's green and blue and subtle. Enjoy!

NOPI Wear Something Spar-Kylie

You'll be seeing lots of pink manis from me soon, I'm trying to find a wedding worthy yet fun combo. You see, I'm getting married April 30th.
This is Nicole by OPI Wear Something Spar-Kylie, another Kardashian polish. It's similar to Kendall on the Katwalk in that it's an opaque glitter, two coats on this. However it's all one color pink, a nice rosy pink, not too bright. I like this one! I should mention that Kendall peeled right off in a couple of days. Just sheets of polish all over the place. I expect this will do the same.

52 week challenge week 10: polka dots

This is terrible. Removed it right after taking pictures.

Nicole by OPI Kendall on the Katwalk

I have to admit, I'm not a fan of the Kardashians. They're famous for being famous. I don't see that they use that for anyone's gain but their own. But I also LOVE this collection by NOPI, which came out in the fall. There are more colors in a new release that is out now at CVS but I haven't seen them yet. This is Kendall on the Katwalk, a pretty glitter with mainly blue but also green and purple glitter. This is two coats and two coats of topcoat (ProFX quick dry topcoat). This glitter dried a little matte and is a topcoat eater, there's still texture after two coats of topcoat. I was reminded of an afghan I have been working on for a while.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects: Cut It Out

I love these strips for when I need a quick and fun mani. This pattern is super fun and I think in the future I might like to color in the flowers. For the first time using these I had trouble with chipping almost immediately. I also had one strip that completely refused to stick, it was dried out. But still, fancy nails minimal work!

These were provided for review from the company. Please note I have purchased this product before.

Nabi Magnetics

I found this at Walgreens when I was looking for Aquaphor for my tattoo and came across a rack of magnetic polish by Nabi. I literally squeed and the makeup counter girl looked at me like I was nuts. I have been looking at magnetic polishes for months but they were so expensive I never felt the need to actually buy one. But now they were right in my face and I could TOUCH THEM! I looked them over and decided on a teal blue and silver. It wasn't until later I noticed there are three different magnets. Fortunately my two have different magnets. There's a chevron I don't have and I haven't seen them at a Wags near my house. If you're not familiar with magnetic polish you paint your nail and while it's wet hold a magnet over the top to make a design in the polish. Pretty easy way to do nail art! I was pleased with the magnets and application of both polishes, although I've only worn the silver one as a full mani. It has pretty blue and pink micro glitter or sparkle in it. I spent a lot of time looking at my nails when I was wearing this. At 2/$5 they were a great deal. One thing I noted was these smelled differently than other polishes, probably because of whatever is in them to make them magnetic. Also, the mister was not thrilled with the idea, saying it didn't seem healthy that I had metal on my nails. I pointed out I usually use a base coat that contains formaldehyde, metal is not that big of a deal. I should also note I had a rough time with cleanup on these which is why there's paint all over my cuticles.
